Games Hangover!!! 7/27/16

Zeus has been dismantled, the barbells loaded on the trailers and Games gear is for sale on the Rogue website!!! Yes! That can mean only one thing. The 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games are over!
Now it’s time to look back and congratulate Donna Bruce for her excellent, empowering and motivating 8th place finish at this years Reebok CrossFit Games Masters competition! The field of athletes was deeper than ever and the events included 205# deadlifts, 95# snatches, 100# medicine balls, 80# thrusters and Donna’s new squat clean personal record 152# which was good enough for fifth place. No those aren’t the men’s weights!!! Those are the 55-59 Masters Ladies weights!!!
More highlights include a third place finish in event two, Adios Amigos, a fifth place finish in Feel The Berm and fifth in the D-Ball Triplet. For complete descriptions of the events follow this link. http://games.crossfit.com/workouts/games
Just when you think Dave Castro, Director of all things CrossFit, might take pity on the Masters enduring the blazing hot California sun, he dropped a bomb on their hearts and souls with the final WOD! Masters 55-59

Before the ladies could figure out what hit them it was 3-2-1 GO!!! The weight was heavy and the grip was slick. A seldom if ever practiced technique was now standard fair. Reverse grip cleans anyone? When the blur of excitement settled Donna managed an aggressive 7th place finish to cement her overall standing in eighth place for the second consecutive year!!!!
Could not be more proud of the fierce competitor she has become. More importantly I couldn’t be more proud of the awesome person I get to hang out with!!! Congratulations and thank you for another great roller coaster ride!!!
